ICPF Places CAD Table at University of Florida, Gainesville

March 6, 2007 . . . The International Corrugated Packaging Foundation (ICPF) announced today it has completed the installation of a Kongsberg CM1320 Table (valued at $100,000) in the packaging lab at the University of Florida/ Gainesville. The donation and installation of the table with training and software is part of ICPF's ongoing nation-wide initiative to assist in growing corrugated curriculums to ensure continued expansion of skilled graduates entering the corrugated industry.

“The CAD table is a precision instrument designed to create package prototypes with corrugated and paperboard materials,” said Dr. Bruce Welt, an associate professor in packaging science. “It will allow students to see their two-dimensional computer designs come to life as commercial-quality, three- dimensional objects.” “Our program is very fortunate to have received this donation from the ICPF and it will allow our students to work with the very latest technology, that certainly gives them an advantage when they are interviewing for internships and careers in the packaging industry,” noted Welt.

The table was donated through ICPF by Esko-Graphics in Vandalia, Ohio. Mark Vanover, Director of Marketing, announced the contribution. “The Kongsberg series of sample tables are industry leading products worldwide. And with Esko's continued interest in supporting education, we are pleased to be able to work through ICPF to donate the Kongsberg table to the packaging program at the University of Florida / Gainesville.”

John Kelley, Chairman of ICPF's CorrAlliance and President of Dusobox Corporation in Orlando, announced that the equipment dedication ceremony in Gainesville is scheduled for Friday, April 20, 2007, following the FBA and AICC meetings in Orlando. “We at ICPF are pleased to have provided this CAD/CAM installation. It is the tenth enabled by ICPF's donors and we continue to work to ensure our industry's support of curriculum at institutions of higher education is best positioned to further educate and attract the best talent to our industry.”
