UF/IFAS Packaging Engineering students have produced the first corrugated tray on the Packaging Engineering program’s newly acquired Kongsberg X24 prototyping table.
 
The International Corrugated Packaging Foundation (ICPF), co-sponsored by AICC – The Independent Packaging Association and Fibre Box Association (FBA), today announced Caitlin Salaverria, Director of Marketing and Communications at FBA, will join ICPF as its new President.

ICPF is constantly focusing on expanding existing programs and creating new initiatives. The Foundation has launched a new pilot program in the Atlanta region to assist plants in working with two year vocational and technical colleges to educate and recruit students for plant floor operations and maintenance.
 
To date, ICPF has placed almost 13 million dollars in testing equipment, presses, CAD tables, grants and other donations at partner universities around the nation.
 
The evening of Monday, April 11, 2022 during the International Corrugated Packaging Foundation (ICPF) presentation at the FBA annual meeting in Laguna Beach, CA, Charles E. Hodges (Hood Container Corporation President and COO) was inducted as the 26th member of the International Corrugated Packaging Foundation's Circle of Distinguished Leaders.
 
Over the years, and throughout the months of the pandemic, ICPF has continued to leverage outreach, education and the recruiting of students and new graduates into the industry through unique partnerships. One of the most significant partnerships has been with students and new hires in the industry who have attended ICPF events and used ICPF resources to acquire internships and full-time positions.
 
ICPF has announced that Acme Corrugated Box Co. Inc. has become the most recent ICPF corporate partner by pledging $50,000 to support the foundation's educational mission.
 
Individual campus teleconference presentations on the Business of Corrugated Packaging and the Career Opportunities are now being scheduled for each of ICPF’s university partners.
